With their help, I whittled the full list down to 128. I then assembled a team of 17 rankers, ages ranging from 30 to 70. To start, I collected a comprehensive list of 199 one-hit wonders from 1960-2000. ![]() How do I plan to do this? I had to rank all songs, and then set up a qualifying Round of 128 songs. Making a proper bracket requires getting choosing only 64 one-hit wonders from the full pantheon. Why 64? Because that’s the way that big sports tournaments are constructed - like college basketball’s March Madness. My goal is to make a championship tournament bracket consisting of 64 one-hit wonders.
